Bedford
One-third of council up for election. No elections this year in Eastcotts, Harrold, Kempston East, Kempston North, Newnham, Oakley, Queen's Park or Riseley.
This was the last election to Bedford Borough Council before its abolition and replacement by a unitary council in 2009; the 2008 elections were cancelled. The elected mayoralty of Bedford, however, was retained by the new unitary council.
